Our research centers around the issues of literacy, Pre-K readiness, and the availability of programs and resources that prepare children for early academic success and a lifetime of learning. Children who have attended Pre-K develop literacy, language and math skills faster than non-participating children. Furthermore, children who receive high-quality Pre-K have better attendance, fewer behavior problems and increased chances of reading at grade level in 4th grade. JLM has provided much-needed resources and numerous volunteer hours in programs that focus on early childhood education. The JLM feels that providing volunteers and resources we can make a difference in helping the children in our community have successful learning outcomes.
