Welcome to the Junior League of Memphis!
Our mission of serving the Memphis community started nearly 100 years ago when 17 courageous women launched a movement to empower women with the knowledge and opportunity to lead positive change.
Over the years, courageous JLM members have continued that legacy and the resulting transformation for Memphis. These courageous efforts have made us better leaders while directing resources to under-resourced neighborhoods in our community. These courageous actions are why JLM is still uniquely relevant to women who are looking to connect and make a difference.
This work to create positive change hasn’t been easy . . . and probably never will be. That’s why the Junior League of Memphis matters.
Right now, a lot is unknown in our world – yet I believe in 3 things:
- I believe serving the JLM mission is more important now than ever. We are an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving our community. The way we serve, and the way we lead may be different yet what remains is an unyielding commitment to each other and to Memphis.
- I believe JLM has the talent, the determination and the courage, to pivot from traditional strategies when they become outdated or impacted by a pandemic. More importantly, I believe in embracing the chaos to flex our creativity instead of becoming paralyzed and defeated.
- I believe JLM is comprised of diverse and strong women who strive for equity and inclusion for all. We show up and jump in instead of turning away. We help each other succeed by lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down.
I believe our world has been forever changed and, because of that, the Junior League of Memphis has never been more vital to our members and our city.
It’s truly an honor to be a part of this JLM legacy.
I invite you to join us as a member, as a partner or as a donor because I believe we are all better together.
