People frequently ask me, “Why do you volunteer for the Junior League of Memphis?” My answer is always the same – The Junior League of Memphis has shaped me to be the woman I am today. Our mission is a part of who I am and what I know to be true. Our mission speaks directly to this commitment of building a better Memphis by promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League of Memphis has trained thousands of women, and we have committed ourselves to revitalizing neighborhoods in and around Memphis, with particular focus in the Binghampton, Berclair and Highland Heights neighborhoods.
With over 1,600 members in the League today, the legacy of the women before us and the legacy we are creating today will revolutionize our city. I encourage you to be a part of our lasting change and to help promote what we do, be developed as a woman and a leader, and help continue to improve our city by becoming a member or helping us achieve our mission through a donation to our Annual Fund.
